Good Morning to everyone making new mistakes this week. It means you're trying something new, something that you don't know will succeed, something that has the chance of failing - but you're choosing it anyway.

I am buzzing from last night's Member Meet-Up. It is the closest thing (so far) to the idea of a delightful dinner party that I use as my muse for this newsletter. We had people from NYC, Seattle, DC, and LA in attendance and our discussions ranged from birth order to schooling choices, Ted Lasso to woke culture, female billionaires, and the play habits of jumping spiders.

I hope the start to your week was as wide-ranging and awesome.

Action without stillness is reactivity. Stillness without action is resignation. Action informed by stillness is purpose. - Cory Muscara

Experience I'm Proud To Have Had

I got the chance to coach the global digital and social teams for Nasdaq last week for their leadership offsite. They liked it so much, they let me up on the stage of the opening/closing bell for a quick picture.

Mindset I'm Using A Lot

The more challenging the situation, the more important it is to simplify things down to their essence. Knowing simple mental mindset shifts that you can call on in tough times is the key to long-term success in the battlefield known as your mind.

Bryon Katie developed one such mindset called "The Work." And, in my experience, it is a really important, yet simple, way to change your point of view on a current situation and find new ways of dealing with it. By asking these simple questions that challenge the story you have been telling yourself, you might see the flaws in your current beliefs and open yourself up to the possibility of a new truth.

You can try it right now. What is something that has been challenging you and consuming more of your time than it should? What challenge has been living rent-free in your mind?

Is it true?
Can you absolutely know that it's true?
How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?
Who would you be without the thought?

That's it. It is actually that simple. But here is where I have found the opportunity to level up. Take that new thought, that augmentation to your prior thought, and run it back through the four questions again. And again. And again. Until you are holding a new mindset that frees you to be truly you and serves you in what you were uniquely placed on this earth to do. There's a reason it's called "The Work."

Productivity Hack I'm Struggling With

As my business has grown, so have my needs to manage the complexities of multiple unrelated initiatives at the same time. When building just one company at a time as I did for years, the whole team used the same project management system and it was easy to get a dashboard view to show you the health of the business in one glance. But now, with multiple teams working on multiple opportunities, I am finding it more challenging to have a centralized view of everything that is going on.

So we started trying to use Notion as a centralized place for knowledge management, CRM, and to-dos for the days and weeks ahead.  But can I be honest? I know I am not utilizing it to its full capacity and if anything, I am slower at what I am doing than I was with my post-it notes.

ASK: Do you, or someone you know, have a Notion (or Airtable or other?) system that has accelerated your productivity and project management that you think would be good for my small team? Tips, tricks, and tutorials appreciated.
