Make Room For Jet Lag
I was recently given a quick mindset adjustment that works in just about any circumstance.
Instead of saying, "I have to..." say, "I get to..."
So this morning, after getting home at 1 a.m. from an incredible vacation, I am not saying, "I have to deal with jet lag." I am working on saying, "I get to deal with jet lag."
As I sat at the dining room table much earlier than I normally do and had my second cup of coffee much earlier than I normally do, I opened up my journal to capture a quick thought that came to me as the coffee was brewing.
Four and a half pages later, that thought had turned into evidence that my subconscious ruminations about this "quick thought" had been working in the background for the past week. Thanks to jet lag, I got to have the time and space to pull the thread and see how far I could take it.
Turns out - pretty far. It almost looked like the outline of a book. Almost.
More to share on that in the near future.
But while I have you, apparently, a lot happened in this season of America while I was gone and unplugged for the past 10 days?
I will do my "tour of the internet" later this morning, reading, watching, and listening to the people I trust online to catch up.
But I am curious: What perspective or point of view has you most curious about this moment in time? Have you read, watched, or heard anything that elevated your thinking about the path forward?
I am so grateful I get to play catch up and appreciate your input.
Back to regularly scheduled programming next week.
Probably.
